Your new company is a managed service company that works on behalf of a number of clients.

Your new role involves:

  • Ensuring the preparation, processing, finishing, repair and dispatch of all products and other items to required standards.
  • Recruiting staff in consultation with the General Manager.
  • Providing ongoing training for all staff from the start of service and throughout their employment, and regularly reviewing their training and development.
  • Ensuring the welfare of all staff in the department and championing college engagement in the department.
  • Maintaining and updating weekly/monthly spreadsheets, achieving targets, keeping all costs to or below budget, and keeping accurate records where required.
  • Acting as duty manager in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Keeping managers, supervisors and colleagues informed as necessary.
  • Wearing and ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks.
  • Fostering and maintaining good working relations throughout the Company.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of Company and Customer business.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience of leading and managing a team.
  • An understanding of the production process and finishing process and how it impacts on finished product quality.
  • Knowledge of monitoring the Quality Standards for Repair / Workmanship Standards.
  • Understanding design of food manufacturing machinery and premises, in conjunction with engineers and food technologists.
  • Monitoring cleaning operations to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Preparation and attendance for third party food safety audits, e.g. customer audits.
  • Developing and agreeing a project plan with the General Manager and Transport Manager on acceptance of new customer orders.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive safety and hygiene culture.
  • Conducting pre-audit quality / visitor checks.

What you will get in return:

  • The working hours are Monday-Thursday 0730-1600 and Friday 0730-1500.
  • A salary of between £47,000 and £50,000 plus private healthcare.
