This well-established logistics specialist has a need for an experienced Payroller, to join them as Payroll Accountant. Taking responsibility for the management and processing of a complex mix of weekly and monthly Payroll.

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join the team. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payroll across multiple contracts, ensuring full compliance with UK payroll legislation and providing excellent support to employees across the business. The role also incorporates comprehensive KPI and contract reporting hence we are seeking candidates who have an in-depth knowledge and experienced application of Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly and monthly basis across multiple payroll contracts
  • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions
  • Administer PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including starters, leavers, and contract changes
  • Collating data for contract reporting
  • Using Excel to create complex reporting schedules
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll data
  • Handle employee payroll queries efficiently and confidentially
  • Support payroll audits and year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds

  • Proven experience in a payroll role
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and creating complex schedules
  • Confident using formulas and collating data
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
