Your new role This is an exciting opportunity to join a Public Sector organisation as a Procurement & Contracts Business Partner based in Glasgow. The key purposes of this role are strategic sourcing, compliance management, contracting, overseeing the management of key contracts, and business-as-usual procurement activities for the assigned Directorate with a view to maximising value for money. This will be achieved by ensuring the Procurement Policy is understood and followed by the key stakeholders within the business and that supplier performance management processes are put in place to promote and achieve this. Create and own Business Plans for strategic sourcing/tendering opportunities, where appropriate, for new contracts or contracts due to expire and areas of high spend which are not currently captured under a contract. Work with the key contract stakeholders and suppliers to develop focussed set of KPI's for the performance of the contract. Govern compliance to the Procurement Policy across the contractual landscape for your respective function
What you'll need to succeed Experience of the end-to-end tendering process, managing commercial contracts in a public sector (ideally Utility Contracts Regulations) environment is essential. Educated to degree level in a related field or equivalent. Ideally chartered or working/willing to work towards being a chartered member of CIPS. Practical knowledge of procurement processes is essential. An excellent team player who excels in developing relationships with critical stakeholders. Highly articulate, analytical and proficient IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Desirable to have relevant qualifications/experience in Legal Contracts Management. What you'll get in return A salary c£60,000 with a contributory Final Salary Pension scheme.
