Hays are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Electrician to support a critical environment in central Oxford. This role offers a long-term contract and the opportunity to work within a high-priority technical site.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering reactive and planned maintenance across a busy, business-critical facility, ensuring power systems, UPS equipment and essential services remain fully operational. The role requires strong technical capability and confidence working within a data centre or other critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to breakdown maintenance requests within set SLA timeframes
  • Carry out repairs to modular UPS systems
  • Diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion, using power analysers
  • Apply risk-focused maintenance practices across critical plant and systems
  • Provide emergency response, standby and call-out support
  • Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager
  • Keep all critical engineering maintenance documentation updated
  • Advise Facilities Management on any required environmental or system changes
  • Undertake site surveys and produce Works Requests
  • Support interruptions, outages and emergency situations as required
  • Work additional hours when necessary to support operational demand

What You'll Need

  • Experience in critical environments such as data centres, computer rooms or trading floors
  • Strong technical awareness of power systems, UPS/CPS, distribution and cooling
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and power-related faults
  • Flexibility to work beyond contractual hours
