Your new company is a successful Bromley-based main contractor working across Greater London & Kent, seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen the existing commercial team. You will work on a range of educational, healthcare, residential, and public sector buildings, with projects typically in the £1 - £3 million range, including new build, refurbishment, and fit-out schemes. Clients include a mix of private and public sector, with several education and healthcare frameworks.
Your new role involves working in a team of 4, reporting to a commercial director. You will oversee 2-3 projects from a commercial standpoint, from pre-construction to completion. Duties include:
- Agreeing to subcontractor payments and variations
- Visiting site to check/measure works
- Preparing and managing client valuations
- Creating and presenting a monthly CVR report
- Identifying and managing commercial risks
- Ensuring effective interaction between commercial and operations teams
What you’ll need to succeed: You will be an experienced quantity surveyor with clear experience of working with a general main contractor or SME. You should be comfortable managing your own schemes and dealing with the technical documentation associated with this, including CVRs. Being fully computer-literate and looking for a long-term career move is essential. A degree in quantity surveying or an equivalent is desirable.
