The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

Location: Working across 18 prison sites (West Midlands and Wales) - approx. 3 site visits per week, 2 days working from home. This role requires security vetting, so a clean criminal record is essential.

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support FM and maintenance projects across multiple prison sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and educating trade operatives on safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Safety Support: Conduct regular visits to prison sites (approx. 3 per week) to monitor compliance and provide guidance.
  • Education & Training: Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to trade operatives. Promote best practices and raise awareness of safe working methods.
  • Advisory & Compliance: Advise on health and safety requirements for FM and maintenance projects. Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with management teams to address safety concerns and implement improvements. Support project teams in risk assessments and method statements.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site visits, audits, and training sessions. Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum). TechIOSH or GradIOSH membership.
  • Experience: Background in construction, maintenance, or facilities management health & safety. Proven ability to deliver toolbox talks and engage operatives effectively.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple sites.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within secure environments or public sector projects.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and risk management in FM projects.

Working Pattern:

  • Site Visits: Approx. 3 days per week across 18 prison sites.
  • Remote Work: 2 days per week from home for reporting and planning.
