Your new role as Site Manager involves taking full responsibility for the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering schemes, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations across multiple schemes
- Leading site teams, subcontractors and resources to achieve programme targets
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations and best practice
- Working on live highway environments, maintaining safety for the public and workforce
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, residents and the public
- Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and plans to ensure accurate delivery
- Monitoring quality in line with inspection and test plans
- Managing NEC4 processes, including early warnings and change control
- Ensuring compliance with Chapter 8 and CDM regulations
What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or highways
- Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS and ideally HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
- NEBOSH, NRSWA Supervisor and 12D Traffic Management (desirable or essential depending on client brief)
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation including CDM regulations
- Experience working with NEC contracts
- Ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively
