The business delivers mechanical packages across a range of sectors including residential accommodation (apartment blocks), commercial offices, and healthcare projects, with project values typically ranging from 100k to 3.5m. Alongside the projects arm, the company also operates a successful service and maintenance division, providing long-term stability and repeat business opportunities. Your new roleYou will join the business as a Mechanical Estimator, with the role open to candidates at either Intermediate or Senior level, depending on experience. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a variety of mechanical building services packages including HVAC, pipework, and plumbing systems. The company currently uses Trimble Estimation software and is transitioning to Simpro, offering an opportunity to be involved in system improvements. Preparing detailed mechanical estimates from drawings and specificationsObtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotationsSupporting the preparation of tender submissionsWorking closely with internal teams across pre-construction and deliveryFor more senior candidates, this will also involve: Leading tenders from enquiry to submissionProviding value engineering solutionsMentoring junior team membersSupporting process improvements within the estimating functionWhat you'll need to succeedExperience working as a Mechanical Estimator within an M&E contractorStrong understanding of building services systems (HVAC, pipework, plumbing)Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documentationGood commercial awareness and attention to detailFor more senior applicants: Proven experience managing full tender processesAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience with Trimble, Simpro, or similar estimating software would be advantageous but is not essential.
