Your New Company
Hays Construction & Property are working in partnership with a respected housing provider based in Bangor. With a busy programme of maintenance and upgrade works across their residential stock, they are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join the team on a temporary basis for approximately 5 months.
Your New Role
As Clerk of Works, you will act as the client’s on-site representative, ensuring housing upgrade and maintenance projects are delivered to the highest standards. Your key duties will include:
- Monitoring contractor performance and workmanship across planned maintenance upgrades
- Carrying out regular site inspections to assess quality, progress and compliance
- Ensuring works meet specification, drawings, regulations and health & safety expectations
- Identifying defects, recording findings and ensuring timely rectification
- Maintaining accurate site records, reports and photographic evidence
- Liaising with residents, contractors and internal teams to support smooth project delivery
- Providing technical advice to ensure best practice and high-quality outcomes
The programme of works includes internal upgrades, external improvements and general housing maintenance activities across the organisation’s stock.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, Building Surveyor or similar quality-focused role
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction standards and housing maintenance
- Ability to identify defects and enforce quality standards confidently
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
- A proactive approach to health & safety and compliance
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
