Your new role involves working on a major highways improvement scheme in the Norfolk region. The project team is seeking an experienced Sub Agent with a strong background in infrastructure works involving structures. The successful candidate will support the Site Agent in the effective and professional supervision of site activities, including the management of subcontract packages, ensuring all works are delivered in line with company procedures, programme requirements, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Produce a detailed 3-month lookahead for your section of works, supported by shorter-term 2- and 4-week lookaheads.
- Record and monitor progress against planned production, communicating updates clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop construction plans for your section, considering sequencing, constraints, and interfaces, and ensure these are communicated effectively.
- Manage, supervise, train, and mentor the site team to ensure they perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Maintain strong communication with engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives.
- Coordinate with supply chain partners to support design development and ensure constructability, aiming for right-first-time solutions with no in-flight change.
- Raise construction issues promptly and escalate appropriately to achieve timely resolution.
- Interpret and challenge design specifications and drawings for your section, particularly relating to structural components.
- Generate high-quality temporary works design briefs suitable for approval by the Temporary Works Coordinator.
- Apply technical expertise to structural works, including foundations, retaining structures, bridges, culverts, or other key infrastructure elements as required by the scheme.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experience in delivering major highways schemes, specifically structures.
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- Lifting Appointed Person (AP) and Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) tickets preferred but not essential.
