Are you an organised and detail-oriented finance professional looking to develop your career within a successful and growing business? We are recruiting for an Accounts Administrator to join a busy finance team, supporting the day-to-day accounting activities of a well-established organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to broaden their accounting knowledge.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, and ensuring effective financial controls across the business. You'll work closely with colleagues across various departments while contributing to the smooth operation of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and supplier payments
  • Reconciling supplier statements and customer accounts
  • Managing sales ledger activities, including invoicing and credit notes
  • Supporting credit control and debtor management processes
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and account reconciliations
  • Preparing VAT-related information and financial reports
  • Completing cash, stock, petty cash and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Providing support across the wider finance team as required
  • Working with Sage and Microsoft Excel to produce reports and analysis

About You

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or accounting administration role
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using accounting software packages such as Sage
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and a proactive approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
