Are you an organised and detail-oriented finance professional looking to develop your career within a successful and growing business? We are recruiting for an Accounts Administrator to join a busy finance team, supporting the day-to-day accounting activities of a well-established organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to broaden their accounting knowledge.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, and ensuring effective financial controls across the business. You'll work closely with colleagues across various departments while contributing to the smooth operation of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and supplier payments
- Reconciling supplier statements and customer accounts
- Managing sales ledger activities, including invoicing and credit notes
- Supporting credit control and debtor management processes
- Assisting with month-end reporting and account reconciliations
- Preparing VAT-related information and financial reports
- Completing cash, stock, petty cash and credit card reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
- Providing support across the wider finance team as required
- Working with Sage and Microsoft Excel to produce reports and analysis
About You
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or accounting administration role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience using accounting software packages such as Sage
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
