Field Service Engineer (electrical) - Newry HQ - Salary up to £45000 (DoE) + Extras *4 Day Week* Your New Company Our specialist client has operations throughout NI, the RoI and the rest of the UK. Your New Role You'll work across a wide range of technology, including dissolved air flotation (DAF) units, screw presses and AMCON Volute dewatering units, chemical and polymer dosing systems, pumps, blowers, mixers and gearboxes, screens, valves and pipework, process instrumentation and control panels with PLCs, HMIs and variable speed drives. Whilst in the field your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Installation and Commissioning Install, commission and hand over new treatment plant on customer sites, both mechanically and electrically * Relocate and reinstall equipment, including setting up our containerised rental units on site * Fit on-site upgrades, modifications and enhancements. Service, Maintenance and Breakdowns Carry out planned preventative maintenance to keep plant running reliably * Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control faults, often while a customer's production depends on it * Work safely on three-phase systems and control panels up to 415V * Set up and calibrate instrumentation and dosing equipment so plant performs to specification and stays within discharge consent limits * Find root causes and recommend lasting corrective actions, not just quick fixes. Customers and Training Be the face of our business whilst on site: professional, courteous and dependable * Train customer operators to run and look after their equipment with confidence * Spot opportunities to improve plant performance and feed them back to the team. Safety, Quality and Reporting Work to RAMS, permits to work and safe isolation procedures on every job * Produce clear, accurate service reports and job sheets on the day * Keep your van, tools and stock organised, safe and ready to go. What You'll Need To Succeed In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications: Essential A recognised apprenticeship or qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in an electrical or mechanical discipline, with proven hands-on competence in both * Field service or maintenance experience on automated industrial plant or machinery * Safe working on three-phase systems up to 415V, including safe isolation * Confidence reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings * Methodical fault-finding across electrical, mechanical and control systems * A full driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points * Willingness to travel across Ireland and occasionally to GB, including overnight stays, sometimes at short notice * Comfortable using a tablet or laptop for service reports and documentation. Desirable 18th Edition (BS 7671) wiring regulations * HNC or HND in electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering * PLC and HMI fault-finding and variable speed drive set-up * Experience with water or wastewater treatment, pumps or chemical dosing equipment * Experience working on food manufacturing or utility sites * CSCS card, IPAF or PASMA, and COSHH awareness (if not, training is provided).
