Financial Accountant (6-9 Temporary Contract)Newcastle Upon Tyne | Hybrid Working | Highly Competitive Salary | September Start A prestigious and well-established organisation based in Newcastle is seeking an experienced accountant to join their finance team on a 6-9 month fixed-term contract commencing in September. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Provide flexible cover across the Financial Accounting team to enable colleagues to participate in system implementation activities Support the transition by maintaining business-as-usual finance operations by covering daily tasks and month-end closure. Preparing and posting journals for UK entities, liaising with departments and other finance team members where necessary Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations Analyse monthly financial results and investigate variances Assist with project work and ad-hoc reporting as agreed by the Financial Controller Working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial support and guidance Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the finance function Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) (essential) SAP system knowledge (preferred) Strong Excel skills (desirable) Highly competitive salary Hybrid working arrangement Friendly and supportive finance team Immediate exposure to key financial projects and business-critical activities September start available If you are an experienced Accountant available to start in September and are looking for an exciting interim opportunity with a leading organisation in Newcastle, we'd love to hear from you.
