An established organisation is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team at Head Office. The position has become available due to the planned departure of a long-standing team member after many years of service. To support continuity and knowledge transfer, the successful candidate will join as soon as possible and receive a structured handover, including a shadowing period.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the end-to-end credit control process
- Monitoring customer accounts and outstanding balances
- Chasing overdue payments and resolving account queries
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Producing reports and reconciliations, primarily using Excel
- Liaising with internal teams to support effective cash-flow management
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Credit Controller position
- Very strong Excel skills (essential)
- Ability to independently manage credit control processes
- Experience using financial/accounting systems (Sage X3 or similar preferred)
- High attention to detail with strong communication skills
Working Hours & Flexibility
- 30 hours per week
- 4-day working week (Monday-Thursday)
- 7.5 hours per day
- Some flexibility available around start and finish times
Hybrid / Remote Working
- The first month will be office-based to allow for training and shadowing
- After the initial month, the role will be predominantly working from home
- Office attendance required on Tuesdays only
Training & Onboarding
- Minimum 3-week shadowing period with the current post-holder
- Full office attendance is required during the training and handover period.
Salary & Package
- £23,000 - £24,000 per annum (based on a 30-hour working week)
- Full-time equivalent hours: 36.75 per week
