Your new company is a well-established and growing environmental and planning consultancy looking to appoint an EIA Consultant to join their North Wales team. Your new role involves supporting and delivering Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects across a varied portfolio. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in projects from early feasibility stages through to planning submission. At senior level, you will take on greater responsibility for project coordination, client engagement, and mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and contributing to EIA projects and Environmental Statements
  • Supporting or leading EIA screening and scoping processes
  • Liaising with technical specialists and managing inputs across disciplines
  • Preparing technical reports and non-technical summaries
  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders
  • Supporting project delivery to agreed timelines and budgets
  • Contributing to tenders and business development activities (Senior level)

What you'll need to succeed:

Consultant level:

  • A relevant degree in environmental science, planning, geography or similar
  • Experience supporting EIA projects within a consultancy environment
  • Strong written and analytical skills
  • Understanding of the UK planning system and EIA regulations
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Senior level:

  • Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating EIA projects
  • Strong client-facing and project management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of UK EIA and planning processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
  • Working towards or holding a relevant professional qualification (e.g. IEMA, RTPI)
