Contract Opportunity: AI Validator β Model Risk
Location:London
Contract Type: Until end of year
Role PurposeHays are looking to hire a Model Risk specialist with a specific focus on AI and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI governance. As part of the Model Risk team, you will independently validate and review AI use cases across various business units, ensuring models are robust, ethical, and fit for purpose-especially in the fast-evolving space of Generative AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent validation of AI models, with a focus on Generative AI.
- Design and apply scientific methods to assess model robustness, fairness, and performance.
- Challenge development teams on use case design and testing methodologies.
- Evaluate third-party AI vendor systems and escalate risks where necessary.
- Produce clear, comprehensive validation reports.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the 1st Line of Defence.
What We're Looking For
- 5-7 years of model risk experience, including GenAI and NLP/ML validation.
- Postgraduate degree (MS/PhD) in STEM fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Predictive and Generative AI.
- Hands-on experience with AI model development, including bias/fairness assessments.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with AI development pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for staying ahead of AI trends.
