Your new company We are currently working with a respected Housing Association in Glasgow to recruit an Allocations Officer on a temporary basis for a period of 3-6 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with experience in allocations, housing applications and tenancy management to join a busy and customer-focused team.

Your new role Manage housing applications from initial enquiry through to allocation and tenancy commencement.

Assess housing applications and ensure they are processed accurately in line with the organisation's Allocations Policy.

Maintain and update housing waiting lists and applicant records.

Verify application information and supporting documentation.

Match applicants to suitable properties and make offers in accordance with housing policy and procedures.

Conduct applicant interviews and provide advice on housing options and rehousing opportunities.

Liaise with housing management, tenancy sustainment and repairs teams to ensure properties are ready for let.

Minimise void turnaround times by supporting the efficient allocation of available properties.

Respond to enquiries from applicants, tenants and partner organisations, providing excellent customer service at all times.

Work closely with Local Authorities, support agencies and external partners to meet housing needs within the community.

Maintain accurate records and produce reports relating to allocations, lettings and waiting list activity.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with housing legislation, GDPR requirements and organisational policies.

What you'll need to succeed Previous experience working within a Housing Association, Local Authority or social housing environment.

Experience managing housing applications, allocations, lettings or housing options services.

Knowledge of housing legislation, allocations policies and best practice.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong administrative and organisational abilities with a high level of accuracy.

Experience maintaining housing records and working with housing management systems.

Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing demands.

Desirable Experience using Home Master or a similar housing management system.

Knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing options services.

Experience working with choice-based lettings or common housing registers.
