Key responsibilities
Instruction and training:
- Conduct lectures and classes for nursing students or staff.
- Supervise clinical practice and guide students/staff in a clinical setting.
- Facilitate learning and deliver clinical skills training.
Curriculum and program development:
- Design and develop educational curricula and programs.
- Create training needs analyses for their area of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare facilities to enhance patient care and implement new programs.
Assessment and development:
- Assess competencies and skills of students or staff.
- Provide professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Support the completion and marking of training workbooks.
Leadership and mentorship:
- Provide leadership to patients, caregivers, and other staff.
- Act as a mentor and role model for students or staff.
- Educate staff on new equipment, supplies, and procedures.
- Maintain a positive learning environment.
Research and quality improvement:
- Conduct research to inform practice.
- Initiate skill development and quality improvement programs.
