A leading contractor delivering works on a National Grid substation project in Melksham is looking for an experienced M&E Mechanical Supervisor to join the site team. This is an excellent opportunity to support a high-profile infrastructure environment, ensuring safe, compliant and well-coordinated delivery of mechanical and electrical activities on site.
The Role
As the M&E Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical and electrical works on a live National Grid substation project, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project and regulatory requirements. Duties will include:
- Supervising M&E activities across the site
- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with National Grid safety standards
- Coordinating trades, ensuring safe systems of work are maintained
- Monitoring progress and reporting any issues to site management
- Ensuring all documentation, permits and authorisations are correctly followed
- Supporting site safety, toolbox talks and daily coordination
Essential Requirements
- NG Person authorisation (Mandatory)
- Manual Handling certification (Mandatory)
- Experience supervising mechanical and/or electrical works
- Strong understanding of site safety compliance
- Ability to lead teams and maintain high standards of quality and coordination
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working on National Grid or other high-voltage substation environments
- Strong mechanical supervision background
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
