A well-established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor based in Northamptonshire is looking to strengthen its projects team with the appointment of a Mechanical Project Manager.The business delivers mechanical packages across a range of sectors including residential accommodation (apartment blocks), commercial offices, and healthcare projects, typically ranging in value from £100k to £3.5m. With a strong pipeline of secured work and an established service & maintenance arm, the company offers stability and continued growth.
Projects are primarily based across the Midlands, although some travel beyond the region may be required depending on project location.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of mechanical projects, typically managing 2-3 projects concurrently.The role has a strong focus on project delivery, productivity, and health & safety, with less emphasis on commercial or budgetary responsibilities, allowing you to focus on operational excellence.
Key duties include:
Managing mechanical projects from pre-start through to completion
Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification
Maintaining high standards of health & safety compliance on-site
Driving productivity and programme adherence
Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams
Attending site meetings and providing project updates
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager within an M&E contractorStrong technical knowledge of mechanical building services (HVAC, pipework, plant)
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
A strong focus on health & safety and operational delivery
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Desirable:
SMSTS or relevant health & safety qualifications
Experience working across sectors such as residential, commercial, or healthcare
