The business has continued to grow and recently moved into new premises, creating a need for additional engineering resource within the team.This is an R&D-focused position where you’ll work on the design, development and improvement of specialist engineered products. There is scope to recruit anywhere from Mechanical Design Engineer through to Senior Design Engineer level, with the responsibilities shaped around the successful candidate.The roleDesign and development of mechanical products and componentsProduce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Autodesk InventorWork on new product development and existing product improvementsTake designs from initial concept through development and into manufactureLiaise closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing and the wider businessSupport problem solving, design reviews and continuous improvementProvide technical guidance and mentoring to developing engineers where appropriatePlay an active role within a small, collaborative Design & R&D teamWhat we’re looking forMinimum 2 years’ mechanical design experience within an engineering or manufacturing environmentStrong 3D CAD capability, ideally Autodesk InventorGood understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design for manufactureExperience designing engineered products, assemblies or componentsStrong communication skills and comfortable working closely with different departmentsExperience within valves, flow control, pressure systems or similar engineered products would be advantageous, but isn’t essentialSenior candidates who can provide mentoring and technical support to less experienced engineers are particularly welcomeThe business is not fixed on a specific number of years’ experience.
