A leading independent tax and advisory practice is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join its growing Private Client team. With a reputation for delivering high-quality, relationship-led advice, the firm works with a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, families, trustees and private wealth clients.

As part of a highly regarded Private Client practice, you'll work alongside experienced tax specialists who are committed to providing practical, commercially focused advice across both compliance and advisory matters. Your new role

As a Senior Manager within the Private Client team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a high-quality personal tax compliance service whilst also identifying and supporting advisory opportunities across a diverse client portfolio. You will act as a trusted adviser to clients and professional intermediaries, overseeing complex personal tax matters while mentoring and developing junior members of the team.

  • Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, trustees and family wealth clients.
  • Overseeing the delivery and review of personal tax compliance work, including complex Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals and trusts.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building long-term trusted relationships.
  • Identifying tax planning and advisory opportunities across the client portfolio.
  • Advising on a range of private client matters including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, trusts and estates.
  • Supporting clients with succession planning, wealth preservation and remuneration planning strategies.
  • Collaborating with specialists across the wider tax practice to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing Private Client team members.
  • Managing workflow, compliance deadlines and resource planning across the portfolio.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and helping drive the continued growth of the Private Client practice.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of the team's services and client offering.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Private Client tax professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

  • Significant experience within a Private Client or Personal Tax team in a professional services environment.
  • Extensive experience managing portfolios of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners and trustees.
  • Strong technical expertise across:
    • Income Tax
    • Capital Gains Tax
    • Inheritance Tax
    • Trusts and Estates
    • Remuneration and extraction planning
    • Succession and wealth planning
    • Tax residence and domicile matters
  • Experience reviewing and managing complex Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals and trusts.
  • A proven track record of delivering a high-quality compliance service.
  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience identifying and converting advisory opportunities.
  • Excellent organisational and workflow management capabilities.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing tax professionals.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • CTA qualification preferred, although ACA, ATT or equivalent qualifications with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.

Desirable experience includes exposure to trust structuring, family succession planning, international private client tax matters, and supporting entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses.
