We are working with a market-leading and progressive PE-backed firm, who are on an exciting growth strategy through acquisition, talent attraction and development. This firm works with an enviable list of fast-paced, industry-leading entrepreneurial clients, with the largest Corporate Finance teams in the North West, where you will benefit from cross-selling opportunities, and have the opportunity to develop new areas of work.
Your role would be number two to the Partner, a highly recognised name in the market, in a team which has achieved strong double-digit fee growth YOY, providing Indirect Tax advice to a broad range of clients, both regional and national, helping them achieve their commercial objectives.
- Providing indirect tax advisory services to a variety of clients
- Supporting the Partner and wider Tax team in driving the VAT practice forward
- Identifying new verticals
- Supporting team members in delivering client projects
- Engaging in day-to-day, direct contact with clients from day 1 to develop long-lasting, positive relationships
- End-to-end VAT advice that solves pressing client matters
- Mentoring and developing others within the team
- Identifying opportunities to implement and develop technology solutions for compliance and advisory projects
- An interest in, or already experienced in, business development and networking across the region
What you'll need to succeed:
- Broad Indirect Tax knowledge and a proven track record of high-quality service delivery
- A commitment to growing with the business and developing people, providing on-the-job training and mentoring to the juniors coming through in the team
- Working with clients to identify issues and opportunities to enhance their Indirect Tax processes
- A desire to learn and deliver quality work to build the firm's reputation
- The ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines, and monitor your own budget, as well as the teams in time / dependent on your experience
- Collaboration is key, both within the wider tax team and across the wider firm
- Experience managing VAT compliance WIP and being responsible for a portfolio of VAT compliance clients
- Strong awareness of digitalisation and how technology can be utilised to drive efficiencies, productivity and profitability
