They are building out a modern engineering environment and are looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, building practical solutions and taking ownership of delivery. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work across software, cloud and data engineering, rather than being confined to traditional reporting, BI or ETL-focused work. Your new roleAs a Data Engineer, you'll take a hands-on role in designing, building and deploying data-focused solutions, with Python and AWS at the heart of the technology environment. You'll work on developing reliable data pipelines, processing and transforming data, and building cloud-based solutions that can be deployed into production.
The emphasis is very much on engineering and delivery, so you'll be expected to contribute directly to the development of solutions rather than simply configuring cloud services or working predominantly with reporting tools. The team is deliberately keeping the background flexible.
You could currently be a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Backend Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Python Engineer.
What matters most is that you have strong Python and AWS experience, a solid engineering foundation, and that data has formed a meaningful part of the systems or solutions you've built.
What you'll need to succeedYou'll need to be a hands-on engineer who can demonstrate strong Python development and AWS cloud experience, alongside experience building and deploying real-world solutions.
We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: Strong hands-on Python development experiencePractical experience building solutions within AWSExperience deploying applications, services or data solutions into cloud/production environmentsExperience working with data pipelines, data processing, ingestion, transformation or data platformsStrong software engineering fundamentals and an understanding of how to build reliable, maintainable solutionsEvidence of delivering real projects, including being able to explain what you personally designed, built or implementedThe ability to troubleshoot technical problems and take ownership of engineering tasks through to deliveryClear and natural communication skills, particularly when explaining technical projects and decisionsYou do not need to match every element of the job description.
If you are a strong Python/AWS engineer with meaningful experience working with data, we are keen to hear from you. What you'll get in returnYou'll join an organisation investing in its technology and data capability, giving you the opportunity to work on meaningful engineering projects and contribute directly to the solutions being developed. You'll also have the chance to broaden your experience across Python, AWS, cloud engineering and data, making this particularly attractive for Software, Backend, Platform or Cloud Engineers who want to move further into data engineering without stepping away from hands-on technical work. xohmjla What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
