A leading insurance provider committed to delivering exceptional underwriting services and building strong broker relationships. They are expanding their Manchester Centre of Excellence and looking for a talented existing Business Trading Underwriter to join their dynamic team.
In your new role as an existing business trading underwriter, you will be responsible for building and maintaining effective broker relationships while delivering renewals within agreed service levels. You will review, trade, and invite renewals for all products within the company’s underwriting appetite and strategy. You will also handle renewal queries, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations, ensuring that all work is completed accurately and on time. You will manage large cases for renewals over £5,000 and act as a referral point for Underwriting Assistants, supporting their development and training where appropriate. Compliance with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles will be a key part of your responsibilities, and you will contribute to process improvements and overall corporate goals.
To be successful, you will have at least two years of commercial underwriting experience, ideally covering commercial property and casualty. You will demonstrate strong commercial underwriting skills, excellent communication and organisational abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. You should be self-motivated, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. It would be advantageous if you hold Cert CII or ACII qualifications and can demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
