Our client is a national top tier contractor who provide integrated asset management for housing associations and local authorities, focusing on residential properties.
This includes Planned maintenance and Retrofit work.
You will be leading c.£22M Retrofit Business expected to grow by c.£5M over the next 2 years.
You will lead, manage and support a commercial team of 5-6 expected to grow by 2 in the next 12 months.
The business is made up of 3 roughly equal parts/teams expecting to grow by £30-40M in the next 3 years, and you will play a key pert in this.
You will be based at the City of London office with travel to contracts, clients and other offices.
Your role will/be:
• Ensure appropriate resourcing and capacity management in line with project demand.
• Act as a source of expertise on all commercial related issues.
• Develop and nurture a team spirit across all disciplines.
• Provide Solutions and Actions.
• Ensure commercial pathways and commercial timetables are adhered to.
• Ensure commercial reporting is completed within timeframes.
• Contribute to the Business Unit Strategy/Plans.
• Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to roll-out initiatives.
• Lead a team including, Commercial/Surveying and Administration
• Take accountability for the profitability against contracts through a Contract Review process.
• Assist with tender production and support/lead tender settlement if required.
• Accountable for the team who manage the selection of subcontractors for tender enquiries.
• Accountable for the valuation process.
• Accountable for the resolution of contractual issues both client and supply chain facing.
• Ensure that the region’s CVR’s and forecasts documents are produced in a timely manner and to a high quality standard with accurate information.
• Ensure that the BU's debt / WIP is kept to an minimum.
• Oversee the final account process acting in accordance with the company delegated authority limits.
• Ensure effective risk management and protect business reputation.
You will have/be:
• a Qualified QS with experience working in Residential / Social Housing service provider (managing Planned works).
• Knowledge and protection of contractual position.
• Commercial skills to maximise value recovery, ensure cost control and cash management.
• Knowledge and understanding of budgets and forecast management.
• Review, challenge and authorise CVR’s and supplementary financial reports.
• Knowledge and understanding of final accounts.
• Knowledge and understanding of subcontract orders and buying.
• Knowledge of responsive, cyclical and planned maintenance.
