Your new company

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, an established Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Maintenance Officer on a temporary contract basis for a period of c. 6 months with the possibility of further extension. It is envisaged that this role will be recruited by the Association on a permanent basis in due course. The Association has a portfolio which includes supported housing, housing for the elderly and general family accommodation.

Your new role

You will ensure the delivery of an effective response maintenance service which will include:

  • Responding directly to tenant queries regarding maintenance requests and processing requests in accordance with the association's policy and procedures.
  • Undertaking detailed inspection of void properties, bringing them back to a suitable standard within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring conditions of contracts are complied with.
  • Maintaining an effective filing and computerised diary system in respect of housing maintenance issues, updating property information and maintenance activity.
  • Reviewing and authorising contractor payments.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A 3rd level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject with a minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role. Alternatively, you should have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
