Your new company
A fantastic and highly successful manufacturer based in Grimsby are now seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their busy engineering team. This site has fully invested in quality, state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the best service and products for their customers. As a team, they’re constantly seeking new and efficient ways to improve their manufacturing facility and continue to be leaders within their industry. This role is a 2 days / 2 nights shift pattern (12-hour shifts).
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the successful applicant will be responsible for attending breakdowns promptly and ensuring work orders and planned maintenance activities are completed. You will be involved in supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying the root cause of all failures. This role plays a key part in the operational team ensuring optimum production asset availability.
- Ensure that performance of the plant is maintained at agreed levels – an aim of 100%.
- Checks include start up, line set (safety, operations, technical and engineering), routine maintenance in accordance with manufacturer’s schedules, complete relevant documentation.
- Support production, with ideas and initiatives to optimise line efficiency
- Plan and complete tasks for self from PPM and Manufacturers schedules
- To be a role model for the operators in assisting and driving the agreed standards by shift and site managers
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful Engineer must have a relevant Engineering qualification coupled with experience working in an FMCG environment. You will be experienced in PLC fault-finding along with a strong health and safety background. HACCP would be advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team is highly important.
