Your new firm
We are partnering with a major accountancy firm with multiple offices across the Northwest region to search for an M&A Tax Director/Partner. This firm provides a range of advisory and accounting services to a largely owner-managed business/entrepreneurial client base. A modern practice, they have 160+ staff spread across multiple office locations, with tax being a key service line as they continue to build and grow. The tax team makes up around 20% of the overall headcount, providing advisory & compliance services to a well-rounded and varied portfolio. Due to growth and market opportunity, they are now looking to bring in an experienced M&A Tax Director/Partner with experience in M&A work. A flexible team, you can be based with the corporate finance team in Manchester and will be required to travel to their main Lancashire-based office for tax meetings and general team collaboration.
Your new role
You will be joining the firm as an M&A Tax Director/Partner to lead the M&A tax team and support the managers, senior managers, and juniors to complete their work. Your role will be to take ownership of this senior position and lead from both an operational and client perspective. With a strong communication and leadership style, you will lead all aspects of the M&A tax team and ensure their work is completed and delivered to a high standard.
You will be working alongside a successful corporate finance team based out of Manchester who are winning deals constantly. The opportunity to work and collaborate with an outstanding team of corporate finance and tax professionals on all transactional work, leading the management team to provide a high level of tax due diligence and support to these teams.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to come from a strong M&A tax background, with experience in leading busy, technical tax teams. This role would suit a director or partner from a Big 4 or Top 20 firm who has M&A exposure at all levels and is ready to take their career to the next level. CTA/ACA or ACCA qualified, you will be an experienced Tax Partner or Director with the gravitas to communicate, control, and successfully lead an already established team of M&A tax professionals.
