Your new role This is a permanent position, where you will be joining a well-established and experienced team to act as a senior leader. You will be responsible for a lot of the day-to-day operations of this site as well as regularly liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Major responsibilities will include:
- Lead all site operations and radiotracer manufacturing activities, ensuring full compliance with UK regulatory requirements including Health & Safety, MHRA and Environmental Agency standards.
- Develop and oversee processes that ensure radiotracer production meets schedule, quality and budget expectations.
- Direct line management of experienced team leaders, with overall responsibility for a team of c.25 people, driving engagement, performance, development and retention.
- Manage production activities, including FDG, NaF and other radio products.
- Maintain facilities, instruments and equipment to the highest operational standards.
- Lead project management activities for new site development, including contractor coordination, validation documentation, equipment qualification and start-up protocols.
- Oversee inventory management, including procurement of materials, monitoring stock levels and ensuring uninterrupted supply of radiotracer products.
- Deliver high-quality, reliable service to customers while meeting operational and capital budget targets.
- Manage subcontractors to ensure service levels are met and maintained.
- Contribute to wider organisational strategy and support commercial teams where required.
- Ensure logistics operations meet regulatory requirements and delivery schedules.
What you'll need to succeed Significant experience in pharmaceutical manufacture and testing (preferably with exposure to radiopharmaceuticals or radiotracers). Very strong line management experience, with a preference for people who have managed managers (eg as a department, site or facility manager) and technical teams. Experience working in a pharmaceutical production facility, aseptic environment or similar regulated setting within healthcare, ie pharmaceutical, biotech or diagnostics (radiopharmaceutical or radiotracer experience preferred). Experience drafting and executing validation documentation (URS, FDS, DQ, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ). Excellent project management, organisational and leadership skills. Strong knowledge of MHRA guidelines and quality management systems. Ability to manage complex operations with a strategic, pragmatic and solution-focused mindset.
