Your new company

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association, to recruit a Maintenance Assistant on a temporary basis for a period of 3-4 months.

Your new role

You will be responsible for managing the maintenance of several sheltered housing schemes across the North Coast and North West. This will include:

  • Carrying out regular building/scheme inspections (to include common areas) and addressing any issues.
  • Arranging minor repair work and void property repairs.
  • Communicating with the Service Centre in relation to placing orders for external contractors.
  • Monitoring specialist contractor's approach to carrying out work and reporting any Health and Safety breaches.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a response maintenance environment, including a good working knowledge of building repairs to residential and occupied properties.
  • Basic IT skills, including use of email and the completion of electronic forms.
  • Good communication and customer service skills which will enable you to work with tenants, colleagues and external contractors.
  • A full, valid, clean UK driving licence.
