Overview
In this Senior Tax Manager role, you drive the strategic direction of the tax function within a growing accountancy firm. You lead and develop the tax team, nurture senior client relationships, and shape advisory offerings to support commercial growth. You’ll handle high-impact, complex tax matters with a focus on owner-managed and entrepreneurial clients, delivering practical, commercially minded guidance. The position offers genuine autonomy to influence the tax function and broaden the firm’s advisory footprint.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop an established tax team
- Act as trusted adviser to business owners, founders and senior decision-makers
- Lead complex advisory conversations and provide practical, commercially focused tax advice
- Identify additional advisory opportunities across the wider client base
- Review complex work and provide oversight across a tax portfolio
- Take ownership of the commercial performance of the Tax function
Key requirements
- CTA qualified or qualified by experience
- Experienced Tax Manager within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience within Corporation tax
- Experience working with hospitality or leisure clients
- Experience advising owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses
- Motivated individual keen to take ownership of a team and help shape and grow a Tax department
