Your new role involves supply teaching, which can be a great way to start your career. It gives you the opportunity to experience different schools, year groups and leadership teams while building your classroom practice and confidence. Many of our ECTs use supply as a way to gain experience before securing a permanent role, while others are matched directly with schools looking to support teachers through their ECT induction. What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected QTS before September
- Recent teaching experience gained through placements
- A passion for primary education
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A flexible and positive approach
- The ability to build relationships quickly with pupils and staff
- A genuine desire to learn and develop as a teacher
