We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Engineer to join a leading Civil Engineering team delivering major water infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland & further afield.

Ideal for someone with a main contractor background and experience of water or wastewater schemes.

Your new role Manage all M&E elements across live civil engineering projects and tenders on NI water frameworks.

Work closely with designers and subcontractors to develop programmes and track design, procurement, installation and commissioning progress.

Identify project risks early and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Liaise with clients, consultants, tender teams and project teams to ensure design and delivery align with expectations.

Provide site supervision, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental standards.

Support monitoring and performance of MEICA contractors.

Review MEICA design submissions and provide technical expertise.

Coordinate temporary M&E services and contribute to construction methodologies.

Manage the flow of M&E information and advise on any programme impacts.

Support procurement activities for materials and subcontractors.

Prepare handover documentation including ITPs, commissioning plans, O&M content and asset returns.

Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential Criteria Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (HND/HNC/trade considered).

Experience working on water utility or wastewater infrastructure projects.

Strong technical understanding of M&E in industrial or water applications.

Good awareness of construction processes with a focus on buildability.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Desirable Electrical/ICA supervisory experience in water/wastewater.

Experience coordinating M&E subcontractors on civil engineering projects.

Awareness of commercial contract forms.
