Your new roleThis position works closely with the Board and Senior Leadership Team to drive and enhance governance, risk and assurance practices across the organisation. The role plays a key part in ensuring robust decision-making, while leading the governance function and supporting its ongoing development to deliver an effective and focused service. Key responsibilities will include leading the governance function, supporting Board and Committee activity, overseeing compliance and data protection obligations, and developing organisation-wide governance, risk and assurance processes. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening audit and assurance activity, maintaining strategic and operational risk frameworks, and ensuring policies and controls remain effective and compliant. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will be an experienced governance professional with a strong understanding of governance frameworks, regulatory requirements and corporate compliance gained within a regulated or non-for-profit environment. You will have a proven track record of providing high-quality advice and support to Boards and Committees, alongside experience designing and embedding governance, risk and assurance frameworks at an organisational level. You will bring expertise in internal audit, risk management and compliance, including overseeing strategic and operational risk registers, managing organisation-wide policies, and driving continuous improvement through assurance.
