The Global Learning Content Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality digital learning content and experiences that support Hays’ global capability and learning strategy, as well as driving employee development, skills development, and knowledge retention for Hays colleagues worldwide.
This role creates engaging, scalable, and user-centred learning content that aligns with the Digital First learning strategy and meets the needs of a diverse, global workforce. Working closely with the Global Experiences team and the Regional Learning teams, and with subject matter experts across the business, the role ensures that learning content is engaging, accessible, measurable, and optimised for delivery across Hays’ learning platforms.
Learning Experience Design- Collaborate with Global design leads to understand global learning needs/requirements and develop content that addresses these needs, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals.
- Design end-to-end digital learning experiences, including eLearning modules, microlearning, digital assets (videos, toolkits), and blended learning journeys; leveraging existing ‘best of class' content where this exists.
- Apply learning science, adult learning principles, and UX design to create content that drives behaviour change and capability/skills uplift.
- Develop clear learning objectives, storyboards, scripts, and prototypes for global learning materials, assets, workshops, and learning pathways.
- Design, create, and revise instructional materials, including digital courses, workshops, and other digital assets, tailoring each to specific audience requirements.
- Build high-quality digital learning assets using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Adobe Creative Cloud, video editing tools).
- Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather detailed information and insights necessary for content accuracy and depth.
- Create visually compelling and brand aligned graphics, animations, and multimedia content.
- Ensure all content is accessible, mobile friendly, and optimised for the LMS/learning experience environment.
- Maintain global content libraries, ensuring version control, quality standards, and alignment with global learning frameworks.
- Manage localisation workflows, ensuring content is culturally relevant and consistent across markets.
- Partner with the Global Head of Learning Systems & Operations to ensure content is correctly uploaded, tagged, and maintained.
- Develop metrics and assessment tools to measure the success and ROI of learning interventions and make data-driven recommendations.
- Partner with tech team to troubleshoot any technical issues related to e-learning platforms and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Document and maintain all content design processes and work to improve efficiency and productivity in content creation.
- Collaborate with regional learning teams to listen to feedback and to understand learner needs and adapt content accordingly.
- Support global programme launches with content creation, communications, and learning materials.
- Support with research and integrate the latest instructional design trends and technologies, keeping Hays at the forefront of learning innovation.
- Use learning analytics, feedback, and user insights to continuously improve content effectiveness.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate content based on learner behaviour and performance data.
- Contribute to global learning dashboards and reporting by providing content related insights.
- Stay current with emerging learning technologies, design trends, and digital learning methodologies.
- Experiment with new formats such as AI driven learning, interactive video, VR/AR, and adaptive learning.
- Recommend new tools, templates, and design standards to elevate the global learning experience.
- Strong knowledge of current digital learning tools, platforms, and trends.
- Proven experience in digital learning design, instructional design, or learning experience design.
- Proficiency with digital authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia).
- Strong visual design, multimedia production, and storytelling skills.
- Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating digital learning assets and design capability.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
