Overview
As Employment Tax Director at a Top 20 firm, you drive growth of the Employment Tax Service line by leading complex advisory work and mentoring a team. You will manage key client relationships from owner-managed to multinational groups, delivering strategic employment tax solutions. The role combines technical tax expertise with leadership, business development, and cross-functional collaboration. You will shape service delivery, pursue new opportunities, and partner with senior stakeholders to expand the practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of advisory projects in employment tax
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of client relationships
- Mentor and manage a team of employment tax professionals
- Collaborate with partners on business development, pitches and proposals
- Identify opportunities to expand services and cross-sell within the firm
- Advise on PAYE, National Insurance, employment status, CIS, benefits and expenses, P11Ds, and PAYE settlement agreements
- Manage HMRC enquiries and investigations as required
Key requirements
- Extensive employment tax experience in a professional services environment
- ATT, CTA or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong technical knowledge in employment tax advisory and compliance
- Experience managing HMRC enquiries and investigations
- Commercial mindset with ability to build client relationships
