You'll work closely with brokers, underwriting and operations teams to optimise performance, enhance profitability, and deliver exceptional service. This is a hands-on role where initiative, collaboration, and commercial acumen are key. You will monitor scheme performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency, investigate high loss ratios, implement corrective actions, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters. Other duties include preparing and presenting renewal proposals to the Underwriting Committee and reviewing and updating policy wording, contracts, and binding authority agreements. What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have 5+ years in delegated authority account management OR 2–3 years in commercial combined underwriting from a top insurer. The ideal candidate would also be a self-starter with excellent time management and have a solid understanding of UK commercials.
