Join a forward-thinking local authority, where the Property Services team plays a vital role in maintaining and improving a diverse portfolio of over 3,000 housing units and a range of corporate, commercial, and community assets. The team is committed to delivering high-quality services that directly benefit residents and the wider community.
As a Building Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing and specifying day-to-day repairs, conducting stock condition and measured surveys, and managing contractors to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with the Senior Building Surveyor and use your expertise to advise on legislation, health & safety compliance, and cost control, while maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with clients and residents.
- Proven experience in housing maintenance within a Local Authority
- Strong knowledge of building construction, pathology, and legislation
- Practical surveying skills and familiarity with health & safety regulations
- Ability to manage contractors and resolve disputes
- Commercial awareness and cost control capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and surveying software
- Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills
- Full valid Driving Licence with access to a car
- An HNC in Construction would be preferred
