Your new company is an established building services consultancy seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The business specialises in mechanical, electrical, and public health design, delivering predominantly high-rise residential and commercial projects, with a strong focus on RIBA Stage 4 & 5 delivery.
Your new role is a fully remote position offering a high level of autonomy, with occasional travel to London as required for site visits and coordination. You will lead mechanical design delivery across projects, managing both the technical output and internal teams, while working closely with wider design stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:- Lead mechanical design on Stage 4 & 5 projects
- Manage and mentor engineers and Revit technicians
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams
- Oversee project delivery, timelines, and quality
- Review technical designs and models
- 8+ years' experience in building services design
- Strong background in Stage 4 & 5 project delivery
- Experience on high-rise residential projects (ideal)
- Proven experience working on UK projects, with a strong understanding of UK Building Regulations
- Proven team leadership and project management ability
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Experience with CAD / Navisworks (or similar)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely
