You will be joining a global civil engineering consultancy supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most significant major infrastructure programmes, Sizewell C. Operating within a highly integrated project environment, this organisation brings together industry-leading professionals from project controls, commercial, finance and delivery disciplines. With a strong focus on robust governance, innovation and continuous improvement, this programme offers the opportunity to work at scale, influence outcomes and build a career on a landmark project. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Commercial Manager to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position based on site at Sizewell C (2/3 days per week) with remote working.
Your new role
As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle, acting independently in the interest of the project and ensuring contractual, cost, risk and change control processes are effectively implemented.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading contract management activities under NEC and similar forms of contract, including change control, claims, payment notices and dispute avoidance
- Delivering cost management services, including CBS/WBS maintenance, forecasting, accruals, earned value inputs and contractor claim assessment
- Providing estimating and cost planning support, including value engineering, benchmarking and quantification
- Overseeing planning, reporting and governance, including KPI reporting, earned value metrics and commercial dashboards
- Leading procurement and tendering activities from strategy development through to contract award
- Managing commercial risk, including risk identification, quantification, mitigation and facilitation of contractual risk workshops
This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence outcomes on a complex, major infrastructure programme.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent and membership of a relevant professional body
- Proven experience utilising NEC3 and/or NEC4 form of contract within civil engineering with either a contractor or consultancy
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the client and project teams
- Full UK driving licence
