The school is now looking for an enthusiastic and committed EYFS Teacher to join the Reception team, covering a maternity leave from after the Easter break until the following Easter. This is a full-time role, and for the right candidate, there is a genuine opportunity to take on additional leadership responsibilities as Phase Lead. The school is keen to meet interested teachers over the coming weeks.

Your new role

  • Delivering imaginative, play-based and purposeful learning experiences that enable Reception children to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Working collaboratively with the EYFS team to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to early learning across the phase.
  • Following the school's EYFS curriculum while adapting provision to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
  • Observing, assessing and recording children's progress with accuracy and insight, using this information to inform next steps and celebrate achievements.
  • Contributing positively to the wider school community, demonstrating professionalism, flexibility and a commitment to the school's child-centred ethos.

For the right candidate: taking on leadership responsibilities as EYFS Phase Lead, supporting colleagues, driving standards and helping to strengthen practice across the team.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or EYTS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within EYFS or early primary settings, with a strong understanding of early childhood development.
  • A nurturing approach, effective behaviour management skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with young children.
  • Secure knowledge of the EYFS framework and the ability to deliver engaging, high-quality provision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with colleagues, parents and external professionals.
