Hays Supply Chain & Logistics are partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Distribution Centre Manager to lead a significant warehousing and logistics operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior logistics leader who enjoys delivering operational excellence, leading high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced distribution environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of a sizeable operation, leading both warehousing and transport activities whilst working closely with senior stakeholders across the wider business.

Your new role

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a large-scale warehouse and distribution operation.
  • Managing operational performance against service, safety, quality and cost objectives.
  • Developing and coaching management teams to build a high-performance culture.
  • Driving improvements in productivity, efficiency and customer service.
  • Managing relationships with external logistics and transport providers.
  • Supporting operational change and business improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant transport, warehouse and health & safety standards.
  • Monitoring and analysing operational performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders to support wider business objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience leading medium to large warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Experience across both warehouse and transport functions.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a track record of developing and improving teams.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics or transport providers.
  • Strong commercial awareness and operational decision-making capability.
  • The ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A hands-on, proactive leadership approach with a strong sense of accountability.
