Test Engineer (Networking in Telecoms) in Leeds

Seeking a technical hands-on Test Engineer with strong experience in networking, managing, coordinating, facilitating & executing test plans, defect management and status reporting; primarily for Layer2 & Layer 3 testing work.
What you\’ll need to succeed
Technical Expertise:

• Strong hands-on experience with Layer 2 Metro Ethernet networks and Layer 3 networking.
• Proficiency with Cisco equipment, Versa SD-WAN, and ideally Meraki.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 features: LAGs, Spanning Tree, CoS/QoS, TACACS, SNMP, FTP, SSH, NTP, ACLs, and device configuration/management.
• Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols, Cisco IOS, and SD-WAN technologies.
• Experience with traffic generators and tools such as Ixia, Byteblower, Wireshark.

Testing & Automation:

• Skilled in manual and automated testing, including:
• Resource coordination (people, equipment).
• Defect investigation and management.
• Documentation (process updates, test plans, results, configuration).
• Status reporting.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (Bash, Python).
