You will be joining a membership-led organisation at an exciting time of growth to build on their success in attracting and signing new members to the organisation. This role also offers the opportunity to develop your leadership skills as there will be an expectation to train and mentor new starters, as well as leading the team during periods of Sales Manager absence. This role is based in Leeds, working 9am-5pm Monday-Friday with 1 day office-based giving you a strong work balance and autonomy.

Joining the established sales team, you will be helping build the membership base of the organisation through an effective sales strategy, prospecting and identifying new opportunities in the market. You will deliver excellent service to your own and the business' clients, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of all services and products. Effective usage of CRM systems to track and close sales leads.

Leadership:

With a proven track record in a sales environment, you will be able to lead by example and support the sales manager in the training, mentoring and coaching of new starters in the business. You will be confident stepping up to lead the team during any absence of the sales manager.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving/exceeding sales targets within a telesales, membership, or business development environment.
  • Experience of cold calling as well as following up on warm leads.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience of CRM systems - Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.
  • Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting colleagues within a sales team.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
