A growing and well-established organisation in Leeds is looking for a reliable and detail-focused Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the finance and operations team. This is a flexible role offering 12-16 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 20 hours. Hours can be arranged to suit you, ideally between Monday and Thursday.
The Role
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records in Xero
- Processing invoices, payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
- Managing petty cash and ensuring cash/card payments are recorded correctly
- Preparing and issuing customer invoices and chasing outstanding payments
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Supporting month-end and year-end tasks, including management accounts
- Collating payroll information for around 30 staff and liaising with an external payroll provider
- Managing PAYE, pensions, new starters, leavers, and payroll queries
- Maintaining HR records and monitoring staff absence
- Ordering consumables, liaising with contractors, and supporting general office administration
About You
Essential:
- Experience using Xero or similar software
- Strong numeracy and understanding of basic accounting principles
- Payroll experience (liaising with an external bureau)
- Confident using MS Office, especially Excel
- Experience with double-entry bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- AAT or similar financial training
- Advanced Excel skills
