This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems, building trusted relationships and helping operational leaders make informed decisions. Working remotely, with occasional travel to offices across the Yorkshire region for meetings and collaboration, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery and sustainability of essential services that make a genuine difference to communities across the UK.The OpportunityThis is far more than a traditional business partnering role.

You will act as the trusted finance lead for a portfolio of senior operational and central leaders, providing strategic financial insight, constructive challenge and practical support to help drive performance, identify risks early and improve decision-making.

You will work at the heart of the organisation, influencing strategic conversations, supporting commissioner engagement, contributing to major bids and tenders, and helping leaders navigate financial challenges in a complex and evolving environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a large, multi-site organisation where relationship management, influence and commercial thinking are just as important as technical financial expertise.

Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Operational and Central Directors, acting as a trusted strategic adviser.

Provide financial challenge, insight and assurance to support decision-making and organisational performance. Identify emerging financial risks and opportunities, helping leaders take proactive action.

Lead the finance input into commissioner and contract funding discussions.

Support the development of financial models, bids, tenders and business cases.

Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve financial understanding and confidence.

Provide coaching, guidance and finance training to non-finance stakeholders.

Support the resolution of funding, invoicing and income recovery issues.

Collaborate closely with FP&A, Financial Control and Shared Services teams to ensure robust and effective financial management.

About YouWe are keen to speak with ambitious finance professionals who combine strong technical capability with outstanding interpersonal skills. You will likely be: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or a finalist nearing qualification.

Experienced within a large and complex organisation. A confident business partner with a proven ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders. A natural problem solver who enjoys analysing issues and developing practical solutions.

Commercially aware, curious and comfortable, challenging.

Experienced in developing financial models, business cases or supporting bids and tenders.

Strong at translating financial information into clear, meaningful insight for non-financial audiences.

Motivated by making a positive impact through high-quality financial leadership.
