Overview

In this Estates Surveyor role, you’ll support a national property portfolio by handling commercial property matters from acquisitions to disposals and lease advisory work.

You’ll work with internal teams and external advisors to ensure the estate meets business needs, manage budgets and records, and handle lease events and compliance.

You’ll contribute to delivering operational property solutions, especially leasehold requirements, through to terms and completion.

This role offers variety in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment with significant stakeholder interaction.

Responsibilities

  • manage acquisitions and disposals of commercial property
  • oversee property management and lease advisory work
  • handle business rates and rent reviews
  • support delivery of operational property requirements and leasehold solutions
  • source opportunities and negotiate terms (heads of terms)
  • coordinate with agents, solicitors, surveyors, and internal teams
  • maintain accurate property records, budgets, trackers and lease events
  • advise on lease compliance and resolve estate-related issues
  • support rent, service charge, insurance, and rates processes
  • Key requirements
  • final stages of APC or recently qualified
  • relevant commercial property experience
  • understanding of landlord and tenant matters
  • experience in acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews, lease renewals, dilapidations or business rates
  • commercially astute, organised, able to maintain records and budgets
  • confident with internal and external stakeholders
  • national travel; flexible location expectations
  • industrial/logistics/warehouse exposure beneficial but not essential
