Your new company is the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives. Hays is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Plumber for HMP Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the prison service and can often lead to permanent opportunities.
Your new role includes:
- Inspecting, maintaining, and servicing plumbing systems to prevent faults and ensure safe operation.
- Diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, and faulty fixtures.
- Installing and upgrading pipework, fittings, and plumbing equipment as required.
- Responding to emergency call-outs, isolating supplies, and carrying out urgent repairs.
- Ensuring all work complies with health & safety regulations, completing reports and paperwork.
- Assisting other trades as and when needed.
You will be required to complete and pass a security clearance prior to starting the position. This is part-time, 1 day per week.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Plumbing.
- Ability to pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS (if required).
- Holding a valid passport or Full Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence at your current address.
- Proof of National Insurance AND proof of address dated in the past 3 months.
- Providing details of at least 2 satisfactory employment references.
