In this role you lead the Design Technology department, shaping its teaching and curriculum to drive strong student outcomes. You will inspire learning across GCSE and vocational pathways, leveraging state-of-the-art facilities to deliver high-quality DT and engineering education. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative curriculum and support staff development through our robust CPD program. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Design Technology department and its curriculum
- Inspire excellent learning and uphold high teaching standards
- Oversee KS4 GCSE Product Design and KS5 AAQ Engineering pathways
- Support curriculum development and staff CPD
- Manage resources and facilities to support practical and theoretical learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to align DT with school-wide goals
- Contribute to improving student outcomes and progression in engineering/DT
Key requirements
- Degree level in Design Technology or closely related subject
- Proven track record of excellent DT teaching
- Experience with Level 2 and 3 DT qualifications is advantageous
